Why Positive Thinking Doesn’t Work

Perhaps we all know a person like this: a very positive upbeat person with all the ideas and good intentions in the world. However take a look at what they have actually achieved in life and you cn see straightaway that positive thinking hasn’t worked for them, they may be happy but no real tangible results have been achieved.

The only way positive thinking can work for anyone is if it is combined with positive action. Wallace D Wattles, one of the great writers on metaphysics and personal development stated: 

“Thinking in a certain way will bring riches to you, but you must not rely on thought alone, paying no attention to personal action. This is the rock upon which many otherwise scientific metaphysical thinkers meet shipwreck – the failure to connect thought with personal action.”

He pretty much hit the nail on the head right there. Whatever you want to achieve yes of course you must believe you can achieve it and think positively about that situation however you need to take persistent and positive action also.

It can be difficult for people to really get this concept of positive action as they try to fulfil their goals and dreams. Taking action now right from the start point that you are at in this very moment is what you must do, Wallace D Wattles:

“You cannot act where you are not. You cannot act where you have been, and you cannot act where you are going to be. You can only act where you are. Do not dwell on whether yesterday’s work was well or poorly done. Do today’s work well. Do not try to do tomorrow’s work now. There will be plenty of time to do that when tomorrow comes. If you take care of the action, the attraction will always take care of itself.” 

Once you have taken positive action towards your goal over a period of time then you can start to see the effects of the law of attraction working in your favour. Your goals can be reached by aligning yourself with other people, locations and events.
