What You Should Pack For Your Weight Loss Journey
The weight loss journey is no different to any other journey worth making, it pays to think about what you’ll need to cope for the terrain you will find yourself in. If its a beach holiday you’re going on you might think of what swim wear to pack and also light evening clothes for pre-dinner drinks at the hotel cocktails bar.
On the other hand if its trekking in the lower slopes of the Himalayas, a bikini and flip flops might not be quite as important. What, therefore, should you pack for the emotional roller-coaster that can be the typical Weight Loss journey?
Some might say that’s a Weight Loss journey to hell, take Factor 50,000 sun lotion and the biography of Adolph Hitler to help to blend you in with the crowd. More positive people would prepare you for the pitfalls ahead and advise accordingly. Lets pack that emotional suitcase now shall we.
As the old saying goes, the thousand mile journey begins with a single step. This means that the hardest part is starting, Set you goals, what you would like to achieve within realistic parameters. Think of how many footsteps there are in the thousand mile journey and consider each day to be a footstep toward your ultimate goal.
We all need directions, as long as they are the right ones. Reading the signposts means how you interpret the mass of dietary information available. Take time to consider these and ask people who’ve been there already.
Forget about ridiculously ambitious diets restricting what you eat to a number of limited options, many of which go against the grain of your natural beliefs. Eating should be a balancing act not a climb up Everest. Take the long way around, you won’t need an oxygen tank.
Exercise is a crucial aspect to achieving your goals. Variety is the key to success in terms of how far you can go. Sticking to the tread mill, day in, day out, can be like walking a path across a barren landscape. Engagement in new scenarios populated by interesting people can be uplifting and, as with journeys, exercising is no different.
This leads onto the most important factor of all. It is crucial to have the backdrop of a support network of friends and (particularly) family to see you through the hard times and to share the good times. Even if it is only the feeling that you are writing a postcard from a distant and lonely place, it will give you a major boost to know that love ones are waiting for you to come back home from your incredible weight loss journey.
