Quick Tips For A Last-Minute Visitor

Posted on Monday, May 17, 2010 in Attraction

Lots of us are faced with last-minute visitors who show up at our door a short time after making the call. While it’s always great to have personal contact and entertain, it can put some pressure on the host or hostess. You don’t want to get caught with a messy house and nothing to offer your guest.

So, here are some great tips so that you can always be prepared, or at least that things done quickly for everything to be acceptable in your eyes and the eyes of the guests. To begin with, you should always take the time to tidy up your home on a regular basis. All it takes is about 20 to 30 minutes a day.

For example, after dinner, make sure that your kitchen is always cleaned up, without leaving any dishes in the sink. Make sure newspapers and magazines are neatly stacked on a table or in a magazine rack. Make your bed in the morning when you get up, as it only takes a few moments.

If you have children, teach them the importance of keeping a clean house and how it’s always best to make their bed. Even if they have a loft bed, it doesn’t have to be difficult, regardless of their age. The younger they are when they start taking care of their rooms and being more responsible, the better it is for them and for you.

Moving on to the bathroom, you don’t have to do any deep cleaning each day. Just use the bathroom wipes and wipe down the sink, the faucet, and the counter. This will leave it sparkling.

Using handheld vacuums, you can easily have a floor that looks spotless, without having to do a big job. You can go over any area that has debris were crumbs on it very quickly. You can also invest in glass cleaning wipes to wipe over any glass tables and the like quickly and easily.

Another great idea to welcoming guests at any time is to have an instant cake mix on hand. As soon as you hear someone’s coming over, open the box, prepare the batter, and pour it into a Bundt cake pan. This way, your guests will feel welcomed and special, making you feel fantastic to greet your guests in a clean home and something to offer them.
