How To Adjust Your Daughter’s Wardrobe
You will probably have to adapt your child’s wardrobe more often than your own. This is because their bodies are constantly growing, and will outgrow what you buy for them quickly. You may be wondering how to stretch your dollar, and what staple items to buy for your daughter or son’s wardrobe. If so, here you will find a few tips on how to buy clothes that will last longer for your child and will also be a bit kinder to your wallet.
Begin by organizing your child’s closet. See which girls sweatshirts your daughter has outgrown, and which ones are still in good shape and fit well. Clothes that are too small should go in a pile until you have finished going through the entire wardrobe.
When you have rummaged through the entire wardrobe and it is time to buy new clothing, make sure you match the new with the old. For instance, buy girls shirts that will go with the jeans that are still wearable. This way, when you match up clothes you are not buying entirely new outfits. Instead, you are supplementing the clothes you already have. This will help save you money.
Children typically have a unique and special air to them. You do not have to go for ‘loud’ clothing. Let your child’s personality shine with classic pieces such as simple girls t shirts, classic jeans and skirts. Let your child be the center of attention, instead of her outfit.
When you are going shopping for these new items, take your daughter with you. Usually, girls like to be part of the process of buying new things, especially when it is for themselves. This will also be an opportunity to spend quality time with her.
Also make sure the clothing is age appropriate. As a parent, you may not want you child to grow up, but the reality is, they will. Older children, pre-teens and teens all will have different tastes in their style clothing. Take their preferences into consideration, but also set boundaries if what they want is not age appropriate.
After you have kept what was good from the closet, and bought the supplemental pieces it is now time to decide what to do with the clothing you no longer need. You can donate to charity, have a garage sale or give it to friends with younger children. There are a number of ways you can ‘recycle’ your child’s unneeded clothes.

How To Cook Your Daughter $11.99 How does a little girl find her way in a world where nothing is sacred? In 2004, Tony Hendra’s memoir Father Joe: The Man Who Saved My Soul , spent thirteen weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. The book detailed his life as a comedian who helped launch the careers of John Belushi and Chevy Chase, wrote for and edited The National Lampoon , and performed in such cult classics as This Is Spinal Tap , even as he overindulged in alcohol and drugs. But there was a glaring omission in his supposed tell-all confessional: the sexual abuse of his daughter Jessica. After more than thirty years of silence, Jessica faced a harrowing choice. In this powerful book, she reveals how she came to the decision to publicly confront her father, sacrificing any hope of reconciling with him and setting into motion a New York Times investigation that shocked the literary world when it broke the story of abuse. But Jessica’s account is neither a minor footnote nor an angry response to her dad’s bestseller. How to Cook Your Daughter — titled after a satirical piece her father wrote only a few months before the abuse began — is an unflinching and unsentimental look at a childhood that never was, set in a time and place straight from the pages of the outrageous magazine that her father helped to create. Against the backdrop of the 1970s New York comedy scene, the memoir traces Jessica’s journey from a lost and abused child to a young woman struggling with bulimia and anorexia to the mother of two who becomes convinced that challenging her father is the only way to reclaim a life that never seemed her own. |
