Think what princess likes to carry with herself. A wand, pair of wings, rings, earrings, etc. all play very important role. If you are bringing a date, dress them up like a prince, or you could bring a life-like frog and put a miniature crown on its head.
The bottom line is that your outfit will not be complete without the accessories. One of the exciting factors of a fancy dress party where you can go with a theme is that it is impossible to go overboard.
