Let’s face it, genetics play a major role on your final height, so if you are not gifted with the right genes, you are probably thinking a lot of what ifs. Short and fat is not the body you want to have, in fact, being short and being fat makes you look even shorter. Alternately, you if are small but stand well, you will look higher that your actual height. Having a good posture while you sit, stand, and walk can go a long way in making you look taller.
Bulking up
If you happen to be small and thin, don’t think that you look taller; the truth is, if you are small and skinny, you will appear tiny and can have a childlike appearance. {Perform weight training exercises and try to gain some mustcles and beef up that arms, shoulders, and legs}. However, to do not overboard and gain too much muscles as this will make you appear puffy and can highlight your small height further. Perform weight training exercises that will develop elongated muscles to make you look longer.
Stretching Exercises
While there is no actual study that verifies the validity of stretching as an effective way to increase height, there are several people who can testify that they have grown taller after following a stringent stretching exercise program. Most claim that they have grown 2 inches taller after following a good stretching program. It is possible that stretching improves their posture that makes them look taller.
Clothing
As a general rule, avoid wearing clothes with checkered, horizontal lines, and tartan patterns; instead, wear vertical patterns or pin-striped patterns to make you look longer. Avoid clothes that will make you look smaller such as baggy pants and oversized sweaters. Avoid contrasting clothes and pants together—this will show the true length of your legs and make you look shorter.
Wear the right shoes
Obviously for women, choosing a pair of high-heeled shoes will make you look taller as much as four inches—any height beyond that is still possible but shoes of that height may be impossible to walk on and may make you look ridiculous. For men, try to look for the right fit shoes with at least one and a half inches sole .
For extreme cases and those who have been involved in an accident, surgery can be a way to look taller, but for everyone else, just stick to the abovementioned ways on how to look taller.
